Knotted Updo for Long Hair with the Large Squiggle Hairslide

If you have very long hair, it helps to knot (or braid!) your hair first to hold it all together before using a hairpin to keep it all up!

The Large Squiggle Hairslide is an excellent tool for long hair. The squiggles in the design help grip the hair, and as you slide the pin into the bun, you will feel the pin cinch together creating a firm hold. For best results, hold the pin open with your fingers when you initially insert it into the bun, then wiggle it side to side as you slide it into the hair.

The break down:

1. Split hair in two sections.

2. Knot the hair once (basic overhand knot).

3. Knot again. Knot a third time if your hair is even longer!

4. Tuck the ends in around the knots to create a bun. You can secure the ends with bobby pins if you need.

5. Hold the tines of the squiggle hairslide apart gently as you insert the ends into the top of the bun. Point the tines toward your scalp.

6. Push the pin down into the hair and wiggle the pin side to side as you continue to slide it through the bun. You will feel the pin cinch together, gripping the hair tightly!
