Back to Basics: The Classic Hairslide (The Only Hairpin You Really Ever Need)
For the first Tutorial Tuesday of the year, I decided to go back to the basics. Here is the first hairpin I ever made: the Classic Hairslide. This is the way I have always used it:
Twist your hair into a bun.
Flip the hairslide upside down with the curve away from your head.
Stick the tines of the hairslide into the center of the bun. If you have a ton of hair, stick the tines closer to the top of the bun; if you have finer hair, stick the tines toward the base of the bun.
As you slide the tines into the bun, flip the hairslide right-side up and push downward. The curve of the hairslide will cup your head.
That’s it! Simple, timeless, quick, pretty. This piece, as well as these hoops, are part of the SKJ Essentials Collection, available with sliding scale pricing.
