About the Artist

Blending the ancient and the experimental, Sophie Kissin crafts jewelry that is personal and avant-garde. Rooted in traditional fabrication and sand casting techniques, her pieces explore form, texture, and innovation. Inspired by nature, art history, and personal narratives, she invites wearers to make each piece their own vehicle for storytelling and self expression.

The Undulation Ring

2025

.925 silver, black and white freshwater pearls

Inspired by lightplay on the surface of water, the Undulation Ring captures the tension and movement of graceful ripples. The sand casting process leaves a raw, porous texture on the metal which contrasts with smooth, shining waves and iridescent pearls. Worn on two fingers, this bold, sculptural piece is reversible—revealing either the sublime black or subtle white freshwater pearls.

The Ethereal Bridge Cuff

2021

gold-fill wire, peacock freshwater pearls

The Ethereal Bridge Cuff emerged from a period of creative constraint and isolation. Considering jewelry as personal expression, how can it also foster intimacy? Worn between the eyes on the bridge of the nose without piercings, this delicate piece adorned with freshwater pearls draws attention to the eyes, our most expressive point of connection. This avant-garde piece explores human interaction and evokes surreal, otherworldly beauty.
