Barrette How-to: The Braided Up-do

Oops, I missed a week of the blog because I was in chaos mode trying to put together the Capsule Collection release. Have you seen it yet? It’s almost entirely sold out and I’m completely floored. Thank you! If you missed it, the lookbook is still pretty inspiring for spring, imo. Take a peek!

Anyway, I’m writing today to show you another super easy braided up-do look that will bring your dirty quarantine hair from limp, greasy, and lame to Zoom-/selfie-worthy in literal seconds.

You can do this with a French braid like I did, or a regular braid. Here, I am using the perle wave barrette in sterling silver which was part of my holiday Botanica II (and is currently sold out!). But, you can use the classic wave barrette for this, and I will be making some more special versions of the barrette in the future.

It’s super easy:

  1. Braid you hair (French or not!).

  2. Fold your braid up onto your head.

  3. Have the open barrette at the ready, then slide it under the braid and fasten!

These barrettes hold a lot of hair. You can see in the video I grab more hair before fastening. Holds really well!

Give it a try and let me know how it goes! Send me pictures or leave me a comment below.
